Let us introduce : Our planner

Meet Ronald! Our planner who has been with us for 11 years, once starting on the cutting line and eventually working in planning. With a passion for the steel industry and a thirst for challenge, Ronald puts his expertise to work every day to ensure that our materials arrive to our customers accurately and on time.

Who are you? Tell something more about yourself!

  • My name is Ronald, and I have been working in the company for 11 years now, once I came in on the cutting line without any experience but partly due to my interest in the world of steel and need for a challenge I have now been active on the planning at KS Service Center for a year.

I like to spend my free time with my family and regularly go out to abandoned and derelict locations with my Photo Camera.

What is your role at KS Service Center and what does it entail?

  • My role is actually very broad, the main task is to deliver ordered materials to customers neatly and on time. This means that I have daily contact with our sales and production department and a fixed network of regular transporters who take our products from A to B. I also coordinate the loading process. I coordinate the loading process so that I can regularly be found in our factory.

I am also responsible for the supervision/follow-up of orders in outsourcing and the correct receipt of incoming goods and the processing of the accompanying documents such as material certificates.

What do you like most about working at KS Service Center?

  • That not one day is the same! There is continuous action that you have to do something with and that gives me energy. Switching quickly, and every day you learn something new. Working with the whole team to deliver an order to the customer on the other side of the country within 24 hours of ordering. Super cool when things like that work!

When it comes to sustainability, what ideas do you have for the company or for your own department?

  • Improvement always starts with yourself. In my job, I always try to make sure that I make full use of a truck's load capacity or, if that is not possible, use partial loads that other companies also take their products on. When we have delivered to our customers, we regularly take back leftover packaging materials which are reused within our production process.

What is the funniest or most enjoyable thing you have experienced since working at KS Service Center?

  • After 11 years it is hard to say, so many memories... I once had to do a last minute video recording that was used to recruit new colleagues, which was exciting because I had never done anything like that before. Fortunately, it worked out well. By the way, this video is still on Youtube!
